Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Katha Kutty, operated by AU Innovations Private Limited (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Kerala, India. By creating an account you agree to them.
Who may use Katha Kutty
You must be 18 or older to create an account. The app is made for children, but the account, the subscription and every setting belong to an adult. By adding a child profile you confirm you are that child’s parent or legal guardian and that you consent, on their behalf, to the processing described in our Privacy Policy.
Your account
Keep your mobile number and parental-control PIN to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
One account is for one household. Sharing account credentials outside your household, or using the app on behalf of a school, nursery or other organisation without a separate agreement with us, is not permitted.
Subscriptions and payment
Some content is free and some requires a subscription. Prices, renewals, cancellation and refunds are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from within the app.
What you may do with the content
Every story, song, reading, recording, illustration and piece of artwork in Katha Kutty is owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to stream it inside the app for your own family’s enjoyment, for as long as your subscription lasts.
You may not download, record, copy, re-upload, broadcast, perform publicly, sell, or make derivative works from any of it, and you may not use it for any commercial purpose — including playing it to a class, a nursery group or a paying audience — without our written permission. Attempting to circumvent the technical measures that protect our audio is a breach of these terms.
“Katha Kutty”, “Apple Story Club” and our logos are our trademarks. Nothing here gives you a right to use them.
Name recordings
If you use the feature that says your child’s name at the end of a story, you give us permission to record that name in our storyteller’s voice and to play it to your child inside the app. You keep no ownership of the recording we make; we make no other use of it. The voice note you supply to guide pronunciation is deleted once the clip has been made. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Fair use of the service
Please do not try to break into, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or automate access to the service, and do not use it to do anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that does.
Availability
We work to keep Katha Kutty running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may add, change or remove stories and features, and we may take content down — sometimes because a licence has ended. If we make a change that materially reduces what you have paid for, you may cancel and ask us for a refund of the unused part of your period.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using Katha Kutty and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. If we close your account other than for a breach, we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Katha Kutty is entertainment for children. It is not an educational programme, a medical or developmental service, and it is not a substitute for adult supervision.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, where a change materially affects you, tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except that nothing prevents you from bringing a complaint before a consumer forum where the law entitles you to.
